Hi Main Streeters,
Due to popular demand we are adding a few new venues in order to squeeze a couple more groups into the festival. We want to welcome Folklore and The Magnet to the festival. Look for those schedule releases to drop in the next few days. Speaking of things that are about to drop....We are only two days away from the launch of our schedule and smartphone app. Wristbands will be available at select downtown business locations in the next few days. Look for those locations on our "Wristban There are a lot of things to do in only 14 days but all the hard work of the team will pay off as fun for music fans. The team has a big meeting tonight and we are hitting the promotion hard. Let us know if you are interested in volunteering for the festival. Thanks again for the tremendous community support, Ben The press links are now posted on the website. Check out the great exposure the we got for the festival in the SCENE and UW Oshkosh Today.
More articles and linare coming soon. -Ben The Phone App is fully uploaded with the schedule and is ready for public release in one week. There are unlimited ways for users to customize the schedule to their liking and make printer friendly copies. Artists are color coded to define their genre and it's amazing just how many different genres that we feature. The App is compatible with ALL smartphones and is also available on home computers and tablets.
Last weekend came and went so fast. We already had our first pre-party and it was fun. The Beermuffs rocked Legends Sports Bar & Grill in the HOT Summer sun all afternoon long last Saturday. This Saturday (July 13) features a pre-party with DJ Lock-IN and DJ G-Spot at Oblio's. Stop down for music starting at 9pm and get your festival wristbands all night long. Flyers are set to hit Main Street and handbills will come in seven days. The promo rush is upon us so look for our presence everywhere. -Ben The biggest thing that we wanted to do with the festival is provide the city with over 100 different performing artists.
Today is a great day because we have officially broken the 100 artist mark. To make this news even better it looks like we may even hit a number of over 120 when the dust settles. The count is officially at 103 artists and rising. Watch the videos on the homepage and continue to get excited for the fun! -Ben EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it !!!
Pick up a copy of the Greater Oshkosh Edition of The SCENE Magazine as soon as you can. Turn to Page 1 and you will see our wonderful flyer and turn to Page 51 to read an exclusive article on the festival. Great things are on the horizon for the city of Oshkosh. There are lots of other amazing articles in this months issue. Grab yourself a copy today. We will archive the article later in the month It's been awhile since I last updated the Daily Activity and it's time to touch base with all you eager followers. Thanks for being so supportive of the festival and checking the website out on a regular basis.
The festival has completed all the band bookings and we want to thank all the incredible talent that submitted this year. If we didn't get you in the festival this year we will make sure that you get a chance to be a part next year. Thanks again for you overwhelming interest the festival. We are in the process of uploading the schedule into an App that can be downloaded on your phone. The App will allow you to view the schedule in a manner that is friendly on the eyes so you know which way to direct your ears. The App will provide information on the performing artists and feature their genre in a color coded manner. A special shout out to Satori Imports for stepping up and incorporating the music festival into their monthly shirts. Their August T-Shirts will feature a musical theme dedicated to Oshkosh Main Street Music Festival. The festival team will also have T-Shirts available during the event that features the performers. The festival team will offer limited edition prints by artist Matt Braun during the event. That now makes a total of four different ways in which to look stylish. Two of them are T-Shirts and Wristbands for your body and one is original artwork for your wall. Look for the official posters around town in the next week and get ready for the fun! Thanks for the support, Ben One of the best parts of a music festival is the collaborations.
Look for Joe Jucius and Evergreen to join forces and pay tribute to Neil Young on the Becket's patio (Sat Aug 3). Joe is also playing an acoustic tribute to Neil Young at Ground Round on River's Edge the same night. Joe Marcinek (from Fresh Hops) can be spotted with Phocus at Peabody's Ale House on Fri Aug 2. If you don't know who these two Joe's are you are in for one hell of a treat. FVDJA is throwing down mix-up, mash-up and pure insanity on the mixers, tables and controllers just about every where you can hear a beat. Look for more collaborations ALL weekend long. We are close to featuring music from EVERY artist at the festival on the website. Take a listen to all the great music that you will get the chance to experience LIVE during the festival. More tunes are still coming in every day.
The schedule is almost complete and there are still a few slots and artists to announce. Expect an overall schedule with every venue, artist and time listed soon. The wristbands are in !!! Meet up with Ben to show your advance support for only $5. Come to Cranky Pat's in Neenah every Thursday to check out Jam Funk All-Stars and get your snazzy blue wristbands with "Oshkosh Main Street Music Festival" on them. These bands are durable and your hand will fall off before these things. Expect a last minute headliner announcement this week. This awesome addition is sure to go right to your Heads and feel good on your body's. -Ben Almost the entire schedule is posted under the individual venue pages along with music from the performers. More schedule releases and music are coming soon too. Look for the schedule of The Electric Avenue at Sami's on Main to drop sometime this week.
There is an overall daily schedule coming your way soon that features a guide to the genre that each artist represents. That will make it easy to determine where you need to be and when to be there. Matt Braun is in the process of designing our official flyer and Ryan from Peabody's is working on our T-Shirts. I can't wait to see what they have have up their sleeves. Wristbands come in the mail in only four days. The excitement is increasing every day. Tell your friends and make your weekend plans now. -Ben |
