The team is working around the clock to provide you with the best time EVER this weekend. Things are moving along well and it's an amazing site to see the Main Street posters up in local windows.
Schedules are going up in each venue for the music and activities that is specific to that venue. Look for posters up in windows along Main Street to receive discounts for wearing your festival wristband. Each business has a different special that ranges from food discounts, merchandise discounts, exercising with friends, free movies, comedy show discounts and drink specials. I just order 50 limited edition prints of this Matt Braun original painting. Stop by our festival booth at either The Sideyard at Peabody's, becket's or The Magnet Billiards and Bar to get one. Each print is 11" x 17" and posted on high quality foam core. The back will be numbered and signed by the artist. The Magnet has designed the official logo and front of the festival t-shirts. That image will be posted shortly. Satori Imports is launching their Main Street Music Festival edition of their monthly t-shirt. Stop in the store and take a look around. Make sure to check out the new weekly comics and cool stuff at House of Heroes as well. The schedule is compete and there are only a few TBA's left. Our final volunteer meeting is tonight and it's time to get the last details figured out. Thursday is coming fast but there is still plenty of time left to work after we relax at the festival pre-party. See you at Dockside Tavern for some live music starting at 6pm. -Ben

Big things have been happening this week. The festival kicks off with a pre-party at the Dockside Tavern Wednesday from 6-9pm with Taylor Jacobson. It's an early night so that you have plenty of time to rest and get ready for the full weekend run.
Make sure to check out Waterfest on Thursday before swinging Downtown for the official start to the festival. Thursday night music options are Barley & Hops (Roots Rock/Reggae), Peabody's Ale House (American/Folk/Acoustic), Sami's on Main (DJ), Reptile Palace (Metal/Hard Rock), Manila Resto (Solo Pianist), Dockside Tavern (Reggae), The Varsity Club (Karaoke) and The Magnet (DJ). A big thanks goes out to the Rick and Len Show on 105.7 WAPL for inviting me to their studio this morning for a LIVE radio interview. Those guys have the best morning show out there and when you mix it with rock it only gets better. I'll try to get a archive of the segment so that you can listen it if you happened to miss it. On the topic of radio, you can hear an ad for the festival on 96.9 The Fox and B104.7 has been giving us tons of shout-outs too. The schedule has been slightly altered in order to accommodate the new artists. Speaking of new artists, we now have 129 confirmed performers and that number is sure to jump over 130 in the next hour or so. Look for an increased Downtown presence for the festival during the Farmer's Market and Gallery Walk featured on Saturday starting at 8am. The official festival shirts are being produced by The Magnet. Look for the design to be posted in the few next days. T-shirts will be available starting on Friday at the booths located at Peabody's and Becket's. T-Shirts will also be available at our Blues Booth in front of The Magnet. Keep in mind that starting on Thursday you can also get a special Main Street Music Festival edition of the monthly t-shirt at Satori Imports for making a purchase of $25 or more. I'm in the process of creating a FAQ page to cover all the general questions that may come up. The FAQ will be updated on a daily basis with the common questions Thanks again for your support. -Ben There have been some major updates to the main page. The most important one is the promotional video from Weatherbull. The video is featured up front and center on the main page as well as below this message. A big thanks goes out to those guys for putting together the video as well as being on staff to do event coverage all weekend for future videos. The music in the video is from The Traveling Suitcase. They perform at Barley & Hops on Friday August 2. DO NOT miss their show because it's going to be a night to remember. There are also four new artist videos on the main page. Five dollars (cash only) gets you a snazzy adornment for your wrist at Satori Imports, House of Heroes, Jambalaya or The Exclusive Company. The festival is only seven days away and your support is greatly appreciated. Each wristband purchased makes you eligible for special prizes and discounts during the festival. It's almost time to party. -Ben We have added the final new venues and sponsors to the festival. The schedule is just about complete and we were able to squeeze in quite a few more artists. The total number of performers at the festival is now 107.
The main page features performance videos from Greg Waters, The Midwestern Charm and Men in Suits. Alexander Jay also made a promotional video for the festival. The schedule app is sooooo close to the release date. Last weekend came and went so fast. We already had our first pre-party and it was fun. The Beermuffs rocked Legends Sports Bar & Grill in the HOT Summer sun all afternoon long last Saturday. This Saturday (July 13) features a pre-party with DJ Lock-IN and DJ G-Spot at Oblio's. Stop down for music starting at 9pm and get your festival wristbands all night long. Flyers are set to hit Main Street and handbills will come in seven days. The promo rush is upon us so look for our presence everywhere. -Ben The biggest thing that we wanted to do with the festival is provide the city with over 100 different performing artists.
Today is a great day because we have officially broken the 100 artist mark. To make this news even better it looks like we may even hit a number of over 120 when the dust settles. The count is officially at 103 artists and rising. Watch the videos on the homepage and continue to get excited for the fun! -Ben |
