I just realized that I haven't made a single post in the Festival Activity in a loooooong time. The festival is ready to hit HARD this year. We have added a Main Stage in addition to the fun that we had last year. Join us for five nights of music and help us grow this event bigger EVERY year. I need to start out by thanking all the artists, venues, sponsors, comedians, volunteers, stage crew, video crew, performers, venue staff and music fans. Pretty much a big thank you goes out to EVERYONE. The hard work was certainly worth it and it only took a pot of coffee and a handful of ibuprofen to get me back to work this morning...errr....afternoon.
Look for the Official Post Festival Video from Weatherbull (official festival video crew) to come soon. Those guys worked their butts off all weekend long and they fought their way through aches, pains and hangovers. I can't wait to see what they put together because the Weatherbull team has some serious talent on their roster. Make sure to check out the video on the main page while you wait for their new one. T-shirts sold FAST and we ran a little short on certain sizes. We are looking to do a second printing to make sure that everyone that wanted a shirt can get one. Please message Ben Vosters ([email protected]) with the size(s) you desire, email and phone number and we will get you in high fashion right away. There are also a few prints left for sale. ALL purchases come with a bonus wristband. T-shirts and Prints are $10 each. A portion of the print sales go to Matt Braun (official festival artist) for designing the original image. We are already working hard on next years festival and smaller events all year long. Expansion Theory Productions has grown in a big way and your support all weekend long was greatly appreciated. Now it's time to completely reface the Expansion Theory Home Page and continue with the positive forward momentum all year long. In addition to more diverse and original music there are Interactive Improvisational Comedy Shows at The Backlot Comedy House and Classic Cinema at Time Community Theater.

Festival merchandise is available starting tonight at Peabody's and Becket's tonight. Get to the The Magnet at the Farmer's Market on Saturday Morning from 8am - Noon as well. T-shirts, Limited Edition Numbered and Signed Prints and Wristbands. We mentioned that there were going to be some collaborations this weekend. Tonight features Derill Pounds with The Traveling Suitcase, Joe Marcinek with Phocus Reggae and an uber special Jam session with members of Phocus, Fresh Hops, Jam Funk All Stars and festival creator Benny Pockets. Get down to The Sideyard at Peabody's for Rob Anthony at 5pm before Fresh Hops Funk All-Stars: The Plaid Seahorse Edition gets nasty with the jams. There are some serious players in the local music scene performing tonight. Don't miss any of the fun the we have to offer. Thank you for supporting Main Street Music Festival. Things are moving along well and it's an amazing site to see the Main Street posters up in local windows. Schedules are going up in each venue for the music and activities that is specific to that venue. Look for posters up in windows along Main Street to receive discounts for wearing your festival wristband. Each business has a different special that ranges from food discounts, merchandise discounts, exercising with friends, free movies, comedy show discounts and drink specials. I just order 50 limited edition prints of this Matt Braun original painting. Stop by our festival booth at either The Sideyard at Peabody's, becket's or The Magnet Billiards and Bar to get one. Each print is 11" x 17" and posted on high quality foam core. The back will be numbered and signed by the artist. The Magnet has designed the official logo and front of the festival t-shirts. That image will be posted shortly. Satori Imports is launching their Main Street Music Festival edition of their monthly t-shirt. Stop in the store and take a look around. Make sure to check out the new weekly comics and cool stuff at House of Heroes as well. The schedule is compete and there are only a few TBA's left. Our final volunteer meeting is tonight and it's time to get the last details figured out. Big things have been happening this week. The festival kicks off with a pre-party at the Dockside Tavern Wednesday from 6-9pm with Taylor Jacobson. It's an early night so that you have plenty of time to rest and get ready for the full weekend run.
Make sure to check out Waterfest on Thursday before swinging Downtown for the official start to the festival. Thursday night music options are Barley & Hops (Roots Rock/Reggae), Peabody's Ale House (American/Folk/Acoustic), Sami's on Main (DJ), Reptile Palace (Metal/Hard Rock), Manila Resto (Solo Pianist), Dockside Tavern (Reggae), The Varsity Club (Karaoke) and The Magnet (DJ). A big thanks goes out to the Rick and Len Show on 105.7 WAPL for inviting me to their studio this morning for a LIVE radio interview. Those guys have the best morning show out there and when you mix it with rock it only gets better. I'll try to get a archive of the segment so that you can listen it if you happened to miss it. On the topic of radio, you can hear an ad for the festival on 96.9 The Fox and B104.7 has been giving us tons of shout-outs too. The schedule has been slightly altered in order to accommodate the new artists. Speaking of new artists, we now have 129 confirmed performers and that number is sure to jump over 130 in the next hour or so. Look for an increased Downtown presence for the festival during the Farmer's Market and Gallery Walk featured on Saturday starting at 8am. The official festival shirts are being produced by The Magnet. Look for the design to be posted in the few next days. T-shirts will be available starting on Friday at the booths located at Peabody's and Becket's. T-Shirts will also be available at our Blues Booth in front of The Magnet. Keep in mind that starting on Thursday you can also get a special Main Street Music Festival edition of the monthly t-shirt at Satori Imports for making a purchase of $25 or more. I'm in the process of creating a FAQ page to cover all the general questions that may come up.
